Dr. Kaushic’s research focuses on understanding the interactions of hosts with pathogens and microbiome in the context of sexually transmitted viruses, HSV-2 and HIV-1. The Kaushic group focuses on understanding the mucosal immunity in the genital tract to in order to develop new and innovative anti-microbial strategies and vaccines against sexually transmitted pathogens.
