Successfully addressing the global antimicrobial resistance (AMR) crisis requires a creative, strategic, and multifaceted approach. Building on McMaster University's strengths, resources, and partnerships, researchers at the David Braley Centre for Antibiotic Discovery are equipped to lead in international efforts against AMR. Our assets include:

  • A world-class team of scientists and clinicians, who specialize in all levels of AMR research

  • An impeccable track record of successful and innovative AMR research, publications and developments

 

  • An expansive multi-user laboratory, which includes Canada’s first antimicrobial drug discovery facility and largest university-based compound library

 

 

  • A variety of animal models of infection for the testing of antibiotics and antibiotic alternatives

 

  • Platforms for the testing of hundreds of drug-resistant bacteria retrieved from clinical samples across the globe
