Registration to the 2019 Gairdner Symposium “Fuelling The Fight Against Antimicrobial Resistance: Global Innovations in Research & Discovery” is now open!


The Michael G. DeGroote Institute for Infectious Disease Research and David Braley Centre for Antibiotic Discovery at McMaster University were honoured to have been selected by the Gairdner Foundation this year to host the 2019 Gairdner Symposium on the growing global crisis of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). This event will bring together leading experts from across the world to present on the state of the international AMR challenge and to showcase recent global advances in AMR research and discovery.


The Symposium will begin on Thursday, November 14th with an expert panel discussion on the findings outlined in a new AMR report by the Council of Canadian Academies, and follow with a series of informative public lectures. Friday, November 15th will feature a full research day, with top-level academics, industry professionals, and students presenting their cutting edge-science.
